On the 6 April 2016 all dogs over the age of eight weeks in England, Scotland and Wales will be legally required to be microchipped and their details registered. If you fail to get your dog chipped, or if the local council picks it up and you are reunited, you will have a short period of time in which to get it chipped. If you miss the deadline you could face a fine of up to £500. Currently, it costs between £20-£30 to have your dog microchipped at the vet. Continue reading →

After a review of Peterborough wards by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) the two wards of Eye and Thorney, and Newborough ward (which includes Eye Green) will become one ward although there will still be three city councillors for the ward.  The new ward will have a population of 6825, forecast to rise to 7330*.  The parish boundary remains unaffected. On the 24 October 2014, a tree of peace was planted in the churchyard of St Matthews in remembrance of those that fought and died in the Great War that began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918. In attendance was the Revd Colin Hurst, members of the public and Eye Parish Council, and children from Eye Primary School. The children planted the tree with the support of staff from N J Pacy Landscaping.

After planting the tree the children sang the following song Remember:

Remember, remember
Those who fought and fell so we could be free
The sacrifice they made
So brave, with valour their lives they gave.
Gone but they live on in memory

So bow your head now,
