Following recent work to upgrade the A47 LED street lighting in Peterborough between junctions 15 and 20, National Highways are planing to carry out further lighting upgrades on the A47 between Welland Road Roundabout, Peterborough, and New Cut Roundabout, Thorney.
The specific locations will include:
- Welland Road Roundabout
- Littlewood Roundabout
- Eye Green Roundabout
- Oversley Lodge Roundabout, Thorney
- Thorney Roundabout
- New Cut Roundabout, Thorney
The work will start on Tuesday 28 May, with working hours of 8pm to 6am, working both weekday and weekend nights, as detailed below.
Work dates
- Tuesday 28 May to Friday 31 May
- Saturday 8 June to Saturday 15 June
National Highways said: “To facilitate this work, we need to close the A47 between junction 20, Peterborough (Paston Parkway/A47 roundabout) and New Cut Roundabout, Thorney. However, when we need to work on New Cut Roundabout, we will need to close as far as Guyhirn Roundabout. We expect this closure of New Cut Roundabout to take place during our final two nights of work. Whilst the A47 is closed, traffic will be diverted in both directions between the A47 at junction 20 and Guyhirn Roundabout, via Frank Perkins Parkway, Fletton Parkway, A605 and A141.”
